My name is Casey Rigby and I am the Fundraising and Outreach Director at the Spartanburg Art Museum (SAM). I am reaching out on behalf of SAM, a non-profit museum dedicated to advancing contemporary arts, arts education, and community outreach.  Our Executive Director, Dr Ryan Teten, and I continue to work to achieve our goal of making art accessible to everyone throughout Spartanburg and beyond.

At SAM, we believe in the power of art to transform communities and individuals, regardless of age, ability or where you might live. As one of only two FREE contemporary museums in the South, we had over 20,000 visitors last year during four amazing exhibits and provided tours to nearly 800 community and school group members!  This fall, SAM launched the Spartanburg Art Mobile, a free arts outreach program, teaching free classes for students at Brookwood Academy for those with intellectual, emotional and physical disabilities. SAM hopes to expand our art outreach to veterans centers, retirement centers and area correctional facilities in the next year.

We would absolutely not be able to accomplish this community service, educational outreach, or host our incredible exhibits without the help from businesses in our community.
