Whether you're new to art or looking to expand your skills, this class will provide a foundation in the principles and techniques of collage making. What You'll Learn: • Week 1: Exploring materials and tools: finding inspiration in paper, fabric, and found objects. • Week 2: Basics of composition: balance, contrast, and visual storytelling. • Week 3: Layering techniques: creating depth and texture. • Week 4: Self-portraits: expressing identity through collage. • Week 5: Abstract compositions: playing with color, and shape. • Week 6: Landscapes and cityscapes: bringing scenes to life with collage techniques. Each week includes hands-on projects, group discussions, and time to experiment with your own ideas. The theme-based lessons will allow you to explore different styles and subjects, culminating in a final project that showcases your unique artistic voice. No prior experience is necessary, SCRAP will provide most of the collage materials you bring your enthusiasm, glue, and scissors. By the end of the course, you’ll have a collection of completed collages and the confidence to continue exploring this versatile art form on your own.
